Dyson Cyclophone
The Cyclephone is a 3-octave pipe organ built from recycled Dyson parts for an internal Dyson competition. Featuring a geodesic frame and powered by modified Dyson fans, it uses recycled aluminium pipes and Arduino boards to convert MIDI input into sound.
Each of the 36 notes is triggered by a solenoid mechanism, allowing control via any MIDI device.
Built by a 3-person team over 2 months, the Cyclephone won awards for Best Design and Best Sound, was performed live with an orchestra, and showcased at marketing events in Turkey.
